Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

The Padres (30-27) scored more runs than the Miami Marlins (19-36), 5-2, in the first of three games at Petco Park. Joey Lucchesi (4-3, 3.96) gave up one run on two hits and a walk while striking out five in six and a third innings. Rosell Herrera hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. Garrett Cooper scored in the ninth inning on a ground ball out by Starlin Castro.
Caleb Smith (3-3, 3.10) allowed two runs on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in five innings. Franmil Reyes hit a solo home run in the first inning. Hunter Renfroe hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. In the seventh inning, Ian Kinsler hit a solo home run and Manuel Margot scored on a single by Wil Myers. Eric Hosmer scored in the eighth inning on a Ty France single and an error by Martin Prado.
