Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

The Padres (28-26) scored fewer runs, 5-2, than the New York Yankees (35-18) in the first of three games at Yankee Stadium. Matt Strahm (2-4, 3.21) gave up three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out ten in six innings. Clint Frazier hit a solo home run and Brett Gardner hit a two-run home run in the second inning. Gary Sanchez hit a solo home run and Gleyber Torres scored on Cameron Maybin’s single in the eighth inning.
Chad Green (0-2, 11.30) started the game as an opener, striking out all three batters he faced in the first inning. David Hale (1-0, 3.38) pitched the next four innings, allowing both Padres runs on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Josh Naylor hit an RBI double to drive in Hunter Renfroe and Naylor scored on Austin Hedges double in the second inning.
