Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Hereβs a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

Winning pitcher: Eric Lauer (5-4, 4.18)
Losing pitcher: Aaron Nola (6-1, 4.63)
The Padres (31-29) scored more runs than the Philadelphia Phillies (33-27), 8-2, in the first of three games at Petco Park. Eric Lauer (5-4, 4.18) pitched six innings, giving up one run on two hits and three walks while striking out three. J.T. Realmuto’s hit an RBI single in the fourth inning. Realmuto hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.
Aaron Nola (6-1, 4.63) allowed six runs on eight hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five and a third innings. Framil Reyes hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. In the sixth inning, Eric Hosmer scored on Ian Kinsler’s double, Josh Naylor singled to drive in Wil Myers and Kinsler, and Manny Machado hit a grand slam home run.
