Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

The Padres (32-31) scored more runs, 5-4, than the Washington Nationals (28-34) in the first game of four at Petco Park. Joey Lucchesi (5-3, 4.21) allowed four runs on four hits and three walk while striking out five in five innings. Howie Kendrick hit a two-run single and Brian Dozier hit a two-run home run in the first inning.
Patrick Corbin (5-4, 3.59) gave up five runs (three earned) on five hits and five walks with six strikeouts in five innings. Hunter Renfroe hit a two-run home run in the second inning. In the fifth inning, Manny Machado reached on a bases-loaded fielder’s choice, driving in Manuel Margot and Fernando Tatis Jr., and a sacrifice fly by Franmil Reyes scored Wil Myers.
