Kris Bryant scored on wild pitch by Austin Adams to Evan Longoria in the sixth inning. LaMonte Wade Jr. hit a ground-rule double that scored Tommy La Stella in the seventh inning. Longoria hit a solo home run in the eighth inning. Wade Jr. scored on a Mark Melancon wild pitch to Thairo Estrada in the ninth inning.
Kevin Gausman (14-6, 2.78) gave up four runs on eight hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over five innings. Adam Frazier scored on a Trent Grisham sacrifice fly in the second inning. Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a solo home run in the third inning. A Tommy Pham double in the fifth inning drove in Jurickson Profar & Frazier. Wil Myers doubled to score Austin Nola and Manny Machado singled to drive in Grisham & Myers in the eighth inning.
