The Padres (42-32) defeated the Cincinnati Reds (35-35) by a score of 3-2, completing the four-game series sweep at Petco Park. Dinelson Lamet (2-2, 2.81) pitched five shutout innings on four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. Jesse Winker scored on a Joey Votto groundout and Eugenio Suarez’s groundout drove in Tyler Stephenson in the eighth inning.

Luis Castillo (2-10, 5.61) gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out seven over six innings. Manny Machado & Eric Hosmer scored on when Wil Myers hit a triple and then scored on a Votto throwing error in the third inning.
