Losing Pitcher: Julio Urías (9-3, 3.99)
The Padres (43-32) defeated the Los Angeles dodgers (44-28) by a score of 6-2 in the first of three games at Petco Park. Yu Darvish (7-2, 2.50) allowed one run on two hits and a walk with eleven strikeouts in six innings. Mookie Betts hit a solo home run in the third inning. Will Smith hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.
Julio Urías (9-3, 3.99) gave up six runs on six hits and four walks with five strikeouts in four-plus innings. Tommy Pham scored on a Jake Cronenworth double and Manny Machado hit a three-run home run with Fernando Tatis Jr. & Cronenworth on base in the first inning. Cronenworth hit a two-run home run with Tatis Jr. on base in the fifth inning.
