Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.

The Padres (46-32) defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks (21-56) in the first game of three at Petco Park by a score of 11-5. Chris Paddack (4-5, 4.69) allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts in two and a third innings. Josh Rojas singled to drive in Daulton Varsho & Nick Ahmed and a double by Josh VanMeter scored Rojas in the second inning. Ahmed’s third inning double drove in Pavin Smith & Christian Walker.

Corbin Martin (0-3, 10.69) gave up four runs on three hits and two walks while striking out none in one-third of an inning. Tommy Pham & Fernando Tatis Jr. hit back-to-back solo home runs, Jake Cronenworth scored on a Wil Myers sacrifice fly, and Manny Machado scored on a Victor Caratini sacrifice fly in the first inning. Tatis Jr. & Cronenworth hit back-to-back solo home runs in the second inning. Tatis Jr. hit a third straight home run — a two-run with Pham on base — in the fourth inning. Eric Hosmer‘s single drove in Tatis Jr. and a double by Trent Grisham drove in Hosmer in the seventh inning. Pham scored on a single by Machado in the eighth inning.
