Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

Colorado Rockies 9, Padres 6

Winning pitcher: Jon Gray (6-5, 4.39)

Losing pitcher: Matt Strahm (2-6, 4.66)

The Padres (33-36) scored fewer runs, 9-6, than the Colorado Rockies (36-32) in the first game of four at Coors Field. Matt Strahm (2-6, 4.66) allowed six runs on seven hits and four walks with four strikeouts in three and a third innings. A Daniel Murphy single drove in Trevor Story and Ian Desmond’s double scored David Dahl and Murphy in the first inning. Story hit a solo home run in the second inning. Charlie Blackmon hit solo home runs in the fourth and sixth innings. Tony Wolters and Raimel Tapia scored on Blackmon’s triple in the seventh inning.

Jon Gray (6-5, 4.39) gave up four runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out ten in six innings. Fernando Tatis Jr. scored on Eric Hosmer’s double and Manny Machado’s single drove in Hosmer in the first inning. Wil Myers scored on a Greg Garcia ground out in the fourth inning. Manny Machado hit solo home runs in the fifth and ninth innings. Tatis Jr. scored on a Hosmer ground out in the seventh inning.
