The Padres (64-72) scored more runs than the San Francisco Giants (66-70), 8-4, in their four-game series finale at Oracle Park. Eric Lauer (8-8, 4.55) allowed four runs in six inning on six hits and no walks while striking out nine. Kevin Pillar hit a two-run home run in the first inning. Evan Longoria hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning.

Jeff Samardzija (9-11, 3.61) gave up six runs on nine hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five and a third innings. Greg Garcia led off the game with a home run and Nick Martini scored on a Eric Hosmer double in the first inning. Ty France hit a solo home run in the second inning. In the sixth inning, Wil Myers double to knock in Hosmer and France hit a two-run home run. Travis Jankowski scored on a Manny Machado single in the ninth inning.
