The Padres (63-72) scored more run, 4-1, than the San Francisco Giants (66-69) in the third game of four at Oracle Park. Joey Lucchesi (9-7, 4.00) gave up one run on eight hits and a walk with three strikeout in six innings. Austin Slater hit a solo home run in the first inning.

Logan Webb (1-0, 3.52) allowed one run over five and two-thirds innings on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. Josh Naylor scored on a single by Manuel Margot in the sixth inning. Naylor singled in the eighth inning to drive in Manny Machado. Wil Myers hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning.
