Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.

The Padres (33-19) defeated the Houston Astros (27-23) in the first of three games at Minute Maid Park by a score of 10-3 in eleven innings. Dinelson Lamet (1-0, 2.57) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in three-plus innings. Chas McCormick hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Alex Bregman scored on a McCormick sacrifice fly in the tenth inning.
Framber Valdez (0-0, 2.25) gave up one run on two hits and two walks with four strikeouts in four innings. Tommy Pham hit a solo home run to leadoff the third inning. Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a solo home run in the eighth inning. In the eleventh inning, Ha-Seong Kim‘s single drove in Jurickson Profar, Victor Caratini scored on a single by Pham, a Jake Cronenworth single scored Kim, Manny Machado came home on Tatis Jr.’s sacrifice fly, Cronenworth scored on a Wil Myers double, and Profar’s single drove in Jorge Mateo & Myers.
