The Hangover 2021 – Games 45-47

Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.

Losing Pitcher: Chris Flexen (4-2, 5.09)

The Padres (28-17) defeated the Seattle Mariners (21-24) by a score of 16-1 in the first of three games at Petco Park. Chris Paddack (2-3, 3.96) allowed one run on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts in six innings. Mitch Haniger scored the Mariners’ only run on a first inning Kyle Seager single.

Chris Flexen (4-2, 5.09) gave up eight runs on ten hits and a walk with a strikeout in one and two-thirds innings. In the first inning, Trent Grisham led off with a solo home run, Jurickson Profar & Fernando Tatis Jr. scored on an Eric Hosmer single, and Hosmer came home on a Tommy Pham single. Tatis Jr. hit a three-run home run with Grisham & Profar on base and Pham tripled to drive in Hosmer in the second inning. In the fifth inning, a Profar single drove in Ha-Seong Kim, a Jake Cronenworth double scored Jorge Mateo & Profar, and a Tatis Jr. single drove in Cronenworth. Cronenworth hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning with Brian O’Grady & Mateo on base. Kim doubled to drive in Pham in the eighth inning.
