The Padres (13-11) defeated the Los Angeles dodgers (15-7) by a score of 8-7 in eleven innings in the finale of their four-game series at dodger Stadium. Joe Musgrove (2-2, 1.55) allowed two run on three hits and two walk with four strikeouts in three innings. Max Muncy scored on a single by Austin Barnes in the second inning. Justin Turner‘s single in the third inning drove in Corey Seager. In the sixth inning, Sheldon Neuse hit a leadoff solo home run, Mookie Betts scored on a Turner sacrifice fly, and Chris Taylor hit a three-run home run.

Dustin May (1-1, 2.53) gave up one run on two hits and a walk while striking out ten over six innings. Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a solo home run — his fifth in three games — in the fourth inning. Eric Hosmer scored on a single by Victor Caratini in the seventh inning. Hosmer singled to drive in Tatis Jr. and Manny Machado scored when Jorge Mateo hit into a ground out with the bases loaded in the eighth inning. In the ninth inning, Caratini scored on a Trent Grisham single and Tatis Jr. came home on Machado’s single. Tatis Jr. scored the go-ahead run in the eleventh inning on a Hosmer sacrifice fly.

Tommy Pham ground out in the second inning and left the game with left calf tightness. Mateo replaced him in the lineup.
