The Padres (67-56) were swept in their three game series with the Colorado Rockies (55-66) at Coors Field by a score of 7-5. Jake Arrieta (5-12, 7.13) made his Padres debut by allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts before leaving after three and a third innings with a left hamstring injury. Charlie Blackmon & Trevor Story scored on a double by C.J. Cron and Ryan McMahon singled to drive in Cron in the first inning. Cron single to drive in Blackmon in the third inning. Dom Nuñez hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. Story hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning.

Chi Chi González (3-6, 6.15) gave up three runs on four hits and no walks or strikeouts in three innings. Wil Myers hit a two-run home run with Austin Nola on base in the second inning. Manny Machado singled to drive in Arrieta in the third inning. Myers hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. Jake Cronenworth scored on a single by Trent Grisham in the sixth inning.
