The Padres (5-2) scored more runs than the San Francisco Giants (3-4), 12-6 in ten innings, in the finale of their three-game series at Oracle Park. Dinelson Lamet (1-0, 1.80) pitched five innings, allowing one run on four hits and four walks with seven strikeouts. Mike Yastrzemski scored on an Evan Longoria sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. In the seventh inning, Yastrzemski scored on a double by Donovan Solano, Wilmer Flores‘ sacrifice fly drove in Alex Dickerson, and a single by Austin Slater scored Solano. Yastrzemski tripled to score Steven Duggar and Yastrzemski came home on a sacrifice fly by Solano in the eighth inning. Duggar scored on a groundout by Dickerson in the tenth inning.

Kevin Gausman (0-0, 5.40) gave up three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out eight in four and a third innings. Ty France scored on a wild pitch by Gausman in the third inning. In the fourth inning, Tommy Pham singled to drive in Trent Grisham and Manny Machado scored on Jurickson Profar‘s single. Profar hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning with Pham on base. Grisham’s double in the seventh inning drove in Fernando Tatís Jr. In the tenth inning, Pham singled to drive in Grisham (who made the last out of the ninth inning, so he was on second base to start the tenth), Greg Garcia singled to score Machado & Pham, France single to drive in Profar, Austin Hedges‘ sacrifice bunt allowed Garcia to score, and Tatís Jr.’s single drove in Garcia.
