The Padres (4-2) scored fewer runs than the San Francisco Giants (3-3), 7-6, in the second of three games at Oracle Park. Chris Paddack (1-0, 1.64) pitched five innings, giving up two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out six. Donovan Solano singled in the second inning to drive in Alex Dickerson. Mike Yastrzemski hit a solo home run in the third inning. Dickerson hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. Solano hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning. Yastrzemski hit a walk-off solo home run in the ninth inning.
Johnny Cueto (0-0, 5.87) allowed four runs on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings. Manny Machado hit a two-run home run in the third inning. In the fourth inning, Edward Olivares singled to drive in Wil Myers and Trent Grisham hit a three-run home run with Olivares & Fernando Tatís Jr. on base.
