The Padres (28-17) scored more runs, 5-3, than the Colorado Rockies (20-23) in the final game of a three-game series at Petco Park. Zach Davies (7-2, 2.48) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over six innings. Trevor Story hit a solo home run in the first inning. Matt Kemp hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning.

Antonio Senzatela (3-2, 3.69) gave up four runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two in five innings. Mitch Moreland hit a two-run home run with Manny Machado on base in the first inning. In the sixth inning, Moreland scored on Wil Myers‘ triple and Jake Cronenworth singled to drive in Myers. Myers scored on a single by Austin Nola in the eighth inning.
