The Padres (28-25) scored fewer runs than the Toronto Blue Jays (21-32), 10-1, in the finale of their three game interleague series at Rogers Centre. Chris Paddack’s start was a last-minute scratch and Robbie Erlin (0-1, 3.70) led off a Bullpen Day. Erlin gave up one run on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in two innings. Matt Wisler, Luis Perdomo, and Adam Warren combined to allow nine runs on fourteen hits and no walk with eight strikeouts over the final seven innings. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. scored on Brandon Drury’s ground out in the second inning. Gurriel Jr. and Cavan Biggio each hit solo home runs in the fourth inning. Justin Smoak hit a two-run home run, Gurriel Jr. hit an RBI double, and Biggio hit an RBI single in the fifth inning. Smoak hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning.

Marcus Stroman (3-6, 2.74) gave up one run on five hits and a walk while striking out two in five innings. Wil Myers hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.
