The Padres (18-14) scored many more runs than the Atlanta Braves (15-16) in the finale of four games at SunTrust Park, 11-2. Matt Strahm (1-2, 3.03) pitched six innings, giving up two runs on eight his and no walks while striking out six. Dansby Swanson and Freddie Freeman scored on a single by Nick Markakis in the sixth inning.

Mike Foltynewicz (0-1, 5.06) allowed six runs (two earned) in four and two-thirds innings on eight hits and no walks with three strikeouts. Ian Kinsler hit a solo home run in the third inning. In the fifth inning, Kinsler doubled to drive in Austin Hedges, Manny Machado drove in Kinsler on a fielder’s choice and a throwing error by Foltynewicz, Franmil Reyes scored on Eric Hosmer’s sacrifice fly, Wil Myers’ single scored Machado, and Ty France came home on a Manuel Margot single. In the sixth inning, Machado doubled to drive in Kinsler, Hosmer singled to score Machado, France hit a triple to score Hosmer, and Myers hit a two-run home run.
