Padres vs Atlanta Braves @ SunTrust Park
April 29 – May 2, 2019
Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.
This is The Hangover.
Game 29
Atlanta Braves 3, Padres 1
Winning pitcher: Mike Soroka (2-1, 1.62)
Losing pitcher: Nick Margevicius (2-3, 3.23)
Save: Jacob Webb (1)
The Padres (16-13) scored fewer runs than the Atlanta Braves (14-14) in the first of four games at SunTrust Park, 3-1. Nick Margevicius (2-3, 3.23) gave up three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five and two-thirds innings. In the third inning, Johan Camargo scored on Mike Soroka’s bunt attempt, which somehow ended up with Soroka on third base and Manuel Margot being charged with an error. Soroka then scored on Ozzie Albies’ single. Albies also hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.
Soroka (2-1, 1.62) gave up one run in six innings on four hits and a walk while striking out eight. Greg Garcia led off the game in the first inning with a single, made it to third base on Franmil Reyes’ single, and scored when Manny Machado ground into a double-play.
