The Padres (51-37) defeated the Washington Nationals (41-43) by a score of 7-4 in the second game of four at Petco Park. Ryan Weathers (4-2, 3.02) allowed four runs on seven hits and no walks with two strikeouts in five and a third innings. Josh Harrison hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning. Juan Soto hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.
Erick Fedde (4-5, 4.53) gave up six runs on eight hits and a walk with two strikeouts in four and a third innings. Wil Myers hit a three-run home run with Manny Machado & Eric Hosmer on base in the fourth inning. In the fifth inning, Machado singled to drive in Trent Grisham, Hosmer singled to drive in Jake Cronenworth, and Machado scored on Myers’ sacrifice fly. Myers’ seventh inning double scored Machado.
