The Padres (4-2) defeated the San Francisco Giants (2-3) by a score of 3-1 in the second game of three at Petco Park. Yu Darvish (0-0, 4.22) gave up one run on three hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings. Brandon Crawford hit a solo home run in the third inning.

Aaron Sanchez (0-0, 1.80) pitched five innings, giving up one run on five hits and no walks while striking out four. Jake Cronenworth scored on a Eric Hosmer single in the third inning. Victor Caratini hit a two-run home run with Ha-Seong Kim on base in the seventh inning.
