The Hangover 2021 – Games 5-7

San Francisco Giants vs Padres @ Petco Park

April 5-7, 2021

Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.

This is The Hangover.

Game 5

Padres 2, Giants 3

Winning Pitcher: Caleb Baragar (1-0, 0.00)

Losing Pitcher: Craig Stammen (0-1, 8.10)

Save: Jake McGee (2)

MLB Box Score

The Padres (3-2) were defeated by a score of 3-2 by the San Francisco Giants in the first game of three at Petco Park. Adrian Morejon (0-0, 4.50) gave up two runs on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts in four innings. Darin Ruf hit a solo home run in the second inning. Evan Longoria hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. Mike Yastrzemski — a late scratch from the starting lineup due to a sore hand — hit a pinch-hit solo home run off Craig Stammen in the seventh inning.

Anthony DeSclafani (0-0, 1,80) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings. Victor Caratini singled in the second inning to drive in Jurickson Profar. Profar scored again on Caratini’s sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.
