The Padres (21-17) were defeated by a score of 3-2 in eight innings by the Colorado Rockies (13-24) in the finale of both a seven-inning doubleheader and their three-game series at Coors Field. Blake Snell (1-0, 4.19) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks with seven strikeouts over four innings. Josh Fuentes hit a two-run home run in the second inning. Charlie Blackmon scored the winning run in the eighth inning on a single by Fuentes.

Austin Gomber (2-4, 5.49) gave up one unearned run on four hits and a walk while striking out six over five and a third innings. Austin Nola scored on a double by Ha-Seong Kim and a fielding error by Blackmon in the second inning. Brian O’Grady came home on a single by Victor Caratini in the seventh inning.
