Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.

The Padres (18-15) were defeated by the San Francisco Giants (19-13) by a score of 5-4 in the first game of three at Oracle Park. Blake Snell (1-0, 4,15) allowed four runs on one hit and six walks with five strikeouts in four and two-thirds innings. Buster Posey hit a two-run home run in the third inning. Evan Longoria‘s single in the fifth inning drove in Austin Slater & Posey. Slater hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.

Anthony DeSclafani (2-1, 2.40) gave up three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out three in five and a third innings. Trent Grisham hit a two-run home run with Jorge Mateo on base and Eric Hosmer hit a two-run home run with Manny Machado on base in the sixth inning.

Austin Nola was hit by a pitch on his left hand and had to leave the game in the sixth inning. Keone Kela left the game in the seventh inning due to forearm tightness.
