The Padres (19-16) defeated the San Francisco Giants (20-14) by a score of 11-1 in the final game of three at Oracle Park. Chris Paddack (1-3, 4.78) returned from the injured list to throw three shutout innings, allowing four hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Ryan Weathers (2-1, 0.81) pitched another three scoreless innings on one hit and a walk with three strikeouts. Brandon Belt scored on Brandon Crawford‘s sacrifice fly in the eighth inning.
Johnny Cueto (2-1, 3.52) gave up five runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out two in three innings. Jake Cronenworth hit a two-run home run with Wil Myers on base and Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a two-run home run with Victor Caratini on base in the second inning. Myers singled in the third inning to drive in Manny Machado. In the eighth inning, Tatis Jr. drove in Caratini on a fielder’s choice & throwing error by Jose Alvarez, Trent Grisham tripled to score Tommy Pham & Tatis Jr., and Grisham scored on a single by Eric Hosmer. Jorge Mateo doubled to drive in Cronenworth and a sacrifice fly by Ha-Seong Kim scored Jurickson Profar in the ninth inning.
