Losing Pitcher: Joe Musgrove (2-4, 3.00)

The Padres (18-16) were defeated by a score of 7-1 by the San Francisco Giants (20-13) in the second game of three at Oracle Park. Joe Musgrove (2-4, 3.00) allowed four runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out seven in five innings. Brandon Crawford hit a three-run home run in the second inning. Brandon Belt hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. An Austin Slater single drove in Steven Duggar in the sixth inning. Slater hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning.

Kevin Gausman (3-0, 1.97) gave up one run on three hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over six innings. Jake Cronenworth scored on a ground out by Austin Nola in the fifth inning.
