Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.
The Padres (78-79) were defeated by a score of 2-1 in the first of three games with the Los Angeles dodgers (101-56) at dodger Stadium. Yu Darvish (8-11, 4.22) gave up two runs on five hits and four walks with six strikeouts in four innings. Mookie Betts scored on a Trea Turner double in the first inning. Turner scored on a single by A.J. Pollock in the third inning.
Walker Buehler (15-4, 2.49) pitched seven shutout innings with three hits, two walks, and five strikeouts. Jake Cronenworth hit a solo home run in the ninth inning.
