Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.
The Padres (73-65) were defeated by the Los Angeles Angels (69-70) in the first of two games at Petco Park by a score of 4-0. Blake Snell (7-6, 4.22) was perfect for the first six innings and ended the seventh inning having allowed two runs on one hit and two walks with eleven strikeouts. David Fletcher & Jack Mayfield scored on Jo Adell‘s single in the seventh inning. Luis Rengfio hit a solo home run and Phil Gosselin came home on an Adell groundout in the ninth inning.
Packy Naughton (0-1, 2.57) pitched five shutout innings while allowing two hits and two walks with five strikeouts. The Padres only managed to gather a total of four hits and three walks in the game.
