Losing Pitcher: Yu Darvish (7-9, 4.05)

The Padres (71-63) were defeated in the finale of their three-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks (45-90) at Chase Field by a score of 8-3. Yu Darvish (7-9, 4.05) gave up six runs (five earned) on eight hits and a walk with three strikeouts in two and two-thirds innings. Pavin Smith‘s double drove in Ketel Marte, Smith scored on a Darvish wild pitch to Josh VanMeter, VanMeter hit a two-run home run, Jake McCarthy scored on a Nick Ahmed single, and Josh Rojas singled to drive in Ahmed, all with two outs in the third inning. VanMeter drew a bases-loaded walk and Smith scored on a Daulton Varsho ground out in the eighth inning.

Luke Weaver (3-3, 4.11) allowed one run on four hits and no walks with three strikeouts in six innings. Trent Grisham hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. Wil Myers hit a two-run home run in the seventh with Fernando Tatis Jr. on base.
