The Padres (71-62) defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks (44-90) by a score of 3-0 in the second of three games at Chase Field. Blake Snell (7-5, 4.31) threw seven shutout innings without allowing a hit. Snell walked two and struck out ten before being pulled after 107 pitches.

Zac Gallen (2-8, 4.34) gave up three runs on five hits and four walks with four strikeouts in six innings. Manny Machado hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning with Jake Cronenworth on base. Adam Frazier scored on a single by Jurickson Profar in the sixth inning.
