The Padres (11-8) scored fewer runs, 6-0, than the Los Angeles Dodgers (12-7) in the third of four games at Dodger Stadium. Zach Davies (2-2, 2.78) allowed two runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts over seven innings. A.J. Pollock scored on a single by Edwin Rios and Chris Taylor came home on a ground out by Austin Barnes in the fifth inning. Barnes scored on a Cody Bellinger ground-rule double and Justin Turner hit a three-run home run in eighth inning.
Tony Gonsolin (0-0, 0.00) shut the Padres out on three hits and a walk while striking out eight in four and two-thirds innings. Blake Treinen, Pedro Báez, Brusdar Graterol, Scott Alexander, and Kenley Jansen combined in four and a third innings of scoreless relief. The Padres loaded the bases in the ninth inning, but were unable to capitalize.
