The Padres (68-83) scored fewer runs, 3-1, than the Milwaukee Brewers (82-69) in the second of four games at Miller Park. Chris Paddack (9-7, 3.33) gave up one run on a hit and a walk while striking out nine over five innings. Lorenzo Cain hit a solo home run in the third inning. Mike Moustakas hit a solo home run in the seventh inning. Ben Gamel scored on a Trent Grisham sacrifice fly in the eighth inning.

Brandon Woodruff (11-3, 3.69) shut the Padres out over two innings acting as the opener, allowing just a walk while striking out four. Hunter Renfroe hit a solo home run in the seventh inning.
