Dinelson Lamet (2-2, 4.30) allowed four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five in five innings. Brock Holt scored on a Mookie Betts single in the third inning. In the fourth inning, J.D. Martinez & Andrew Benintendi scored on a double by Christian Vazquez and Mitch Moreland singled to drive in Vazquez. Holt hit a solo home run in the ninth inning.
Nathan Eovaldi (1-0, 6.64) gave up two runs on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts in three innings. Eric Hosmer hit a two-run home run and Luis Urías‘ ground out drove in Hunter Renfroe in the fourth inning. Ty France singled to drive in Urías in the seventh inning.
