The Padres (32-19) scored fewer runs, 7-5, than the Los Angeles Dodgers (35-15) in the finale of their three-game series at Petco Park. Adrian Morejon (2-1, 2.84) allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits and no walk with three strikeouts in two innings. The Padres used nine pitchers in this bullpen game, a new club record for a nine-inning game. A.J. Pollock hit a solo home run in the second inning. Corey Seager scored on a Max Muncy double and Will Smith singled to drive in Justin Turner in the third inning. Smith hit a double to drive in Mookie Betts & Turner and Smith later scored on a single by Cody Bellinger in the fifth inning. Chris Taylor hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Brusdar Graterol (0-2, 3.32) allowed one run on one hit and one walk with one strikeout in one and a third innings. Originally scheduled starting pitcher Dustin May ended up coming in to pitch five and a third innings of relief. Wil Myers scored on a double by Jason Castro in the second inning. Jurickson Profar hit a two-run home run with Mitch Moreland on base in the seventh inning. Manny Machado hit a solo home run in the eighth inning. Profar singled in the ninth inning to drive in Jorge Oña.
