The Hangover 2020 – Games 49-51

Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of trying to login to Zoom meetings with fellow Padres fans. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were stuck in quarantine.

Padres 7, Dodgers 2

Winning Pitcher: Dinelson Lamet (3-1, 2.12)

Losing Pitcher: Clayton Kershaw (5-2, 2.28)

The Padres (32-17) scored more runs, 7-2, than the Los Angeles Dodgers (33-15) in the first game of three at Petco Park. Dinelson Lamet (3-1, 2.12) allowed one run on three hits and two walk while striking out eleven in seven innings. Austin Barnes scored on a ground out by Corey Seager in the third inning. Chris Taylor‘s double in the ninth inning drove in Max Muncy.

Clayton Kershaw (5-2, 2.28) gave up three runs on five hits and no walks with nine strikeouts over six and a third innings. Trent Grisham hit a solo home run in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, a double by Jorge Oña drove in Wil Myers, Jurickson Profar scored on when Greg Garcia ground into a fielder’s choice, Oña came home when Grisham reached on a fielder’s choice, Garcia came home on a Manny Machado single, and Austin Nola ground into a force out to drive in Grisham. Myers hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.
