The Padres (32-18) scored fewer runs than the Los Angeles Dodgers (34-15) in the second of three games at Petco Park, 3-1. Zach Davies (7-3, 2.69) allowed three runs over six innings on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts. A Justin Turner single in the first inning drove in Mookie Betts. Turner scored in the third inning on a Cody Bellinger single. Edwin Ríos hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Tony Gonsolin (1-1, 1.51) gave up one run on four hits and no walks while striking out two in seven innings. Trent Grisham‘s third inning single drove in Jurickson Profar for the Padres’ lone run.
