The Padres (55-40) defeated the Washington Nationals (42-49) by a score of 10-4 in the second of three games at Nationals Park. Blake Snell (3-3, 5.21) allowed four runs on six hits and four walks with three strikeouts in four innings. Josh Harrison‘s first inning single drove in Trea Turner. Ryan Zimmerman hit a three-run home run in the third inning.

Patrick Corbin (6-8, 5.66) gave up six runs on ten hits and four walks with three strikeouts over five and a third innings. Jake Cronenworth drove in Tommy Pham with a single and Fernando Tatis Jr. scored on the most unbelievable sacrifice fly you’ll ever see by Manny Machado in the first inning. Snell scored on Tatis Jr.’s single in the second inning. Machado & Wil Myers scored on a double by Ha-Seong Kim in the third inning. Tatis Jr. singled to drive in Webster Rivas, Pham scored on a Cronenworth single, and a single by Machado drove in Tatis Jr. in the sixth inning. Pham singled and took second base on a Juan Soto throwing error in the seventh inning to drive in Rivas & Eric Hosmer.

The game was suspended in the middle of the sixth inning due to a shooting outside the gates of Nationals Park and resumed before the next game.
