The Padres (7-3) defeated the Texas Rangers (3-6) by a score of 2-0 to complete a sweep of their three game series at Globe Life Field. Adrian Morejon (0-0, 3.86) pitched to just three batters before being removed with a left elbow/forearm strain, getting the first batter to ground out, striking out one, and walking another. Craig Stammen (1-1, 4.05) pitched three and a third innings of shutout relief, followed by Tyler Williams, Tim Hill, Austin Adams, Emilio Pagán, and Mark Melancon.

Mike Foltynewicz (0-2, 4.09) pitched seven innings, giving up one run on two hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Trent Grisham hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. Manny Machado hit a solo home run in the ninth inning.
