The Padres (38-31) were defeated in the second game of three with the Colorado Rockies (27-41) at Coors Field by a score of 8-4. Yu Darvish (6-2, 2.57) gave up four runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in five-plus innings. Ryan McMahon tripled to drive in Trevor Story and McMahon scored on a single by Brendan Rodgers in the fourth inning. McMahon hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Raimel Tapia doubled to drive Garrett Hampson in and Tapia scored on a McMahon sacrifice fly in the seventh inning. C.J. Cron scored on a Tapia double and Yonathan Daza doubled to drive in Tapia in the eighth inning.

Chi Chi González (2-4, 5.76) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts over six innings. Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a two-run home run in the first inning after Manny Machado doubled. Jake Cronenworth scored on a ground out by Victor Caratini and Darvish singled to drive in Jurickson Profar in the second inning.
