The Padres (38-29) defeated the New York Mets (32-25) in the finale of their three-game series at Citi Field by a score of 7-3. Chris Paddack (3-5, 4.14) gave up two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out nine in six innings. Jose Peraza hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning. Dominic Smith scored on a Tomas Nido single & throwing error by Jake Cronenworth in the eighth inning.

Joey Lucchesi (1-4, 5.18) allowed one run on four hits and a walk with six strikeouts in five innings. Tommy Pham led off the game with a solo home run in the first inning. In the seventh inning, Pham drew a bases-loaded walk to score Eric Hosmer, Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a grand slam home run with Cronenworth, Jurickson Profar, & Pham on base, and Manny Machado hit a solo home run.
