Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.

The Padres (37-28) were defeated by the New York Mets (31-24) in the first game of three at Citi Field by a score of 3-2. Blake Snell (2-3, 4.97) gave up three runs on five hits, three walks, and a balk with four strikeouts in four-plus innings. In the fifth inning, Billy McKinney doubled to drive in Kevin Pillar and a Jacob deGrom single scored McKinney & Jose Peraza.

deGrom (6-2, 0.56) threw six shutout innings on one hit and no walks while striking out ten before leaving with right flexor tendonitis. Jake Cronenworth hit a two-run home run with Fernando Tatis Jr. on base in the seventh inning.
