June 11-13, 2021
Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after an entire year of watching baseball from anywhere other than the ballpark. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a reminder of what we may have missed while most of us were still staying at home.
This is The Hangover.
Game 65
Padres 2, Mets 3
Winning Pitcher: Jacob deGrom (6-2, 0.56)
Losing Pitcher: Blake Snell (2-3, 4.97)
Save: Edwin Díaz (11)
The Padres (37-28) were defeated by the New York Mets (31-24) in the first game of three at Citi Field by a score of 3-2. Blake Snell (2-3, 4.97) gave up three runs on five hits, three walks, and a balk with four strikeouts in four-plus innings. In the fifth inning, Billy McKinney doubled to drive in Kevin Pillar and a Jacob deGrom single scored McKinney & Jose Peraza.
