The Padres (17-14) were defeated by the Pittsburgh Pirates (13-16) by a score of 2-1 in the second game of three at Petco Park. Dinelson Lamet (0-0, 0.00) came off the 10-day injured list and pitched two scoreless innings, allowing four hits and no walk with no strikeouts. Ryan Weathers (1-1, 0.93) pitched three innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks with one strikeout. Bryan Reynolds doubled in the third inning to drive in Adam Frazier. Erik Gonzalez scored when Jacob Stallings reached on a fielder’s choice in the sixth inning.

Mitch Keller (2-3, 6.29) struck out five in five and two-thirds shutout innings with two hits & two walks allowed. Wil Myers scored the Padres lone run in the seventh inning on a single by Austin Nola.
