The Padres (18-14) defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates (13-17) in the finale of their three-game series at Petco Park by a score of 4-2. Yu Darvish (3-1, 2.27) gave up two runs on six hits and a walk with eight strikeouts in five and two-thirds innings. Bryan Reynolds hit a solo home run and Erik Gonzalez scored on a Ka’ai Tom sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

JT Brubaker (2-2, 2.78) allowed two runs on six hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in five innings. Victor Caratini hit a solo home run in the third inning. Wil Myers‘ single in the fifth inning drove in Fernando Tatis Jr. Jake Cronenworth hit a two-run single to drive in Caratini and Trent Grisham in the sixth inning.
