The Padres (10-7) defeated the Los Angeles dodgers (13-3) in the finale of their three-game series by a score of 5-2, avoiding the sweep. Blake Snell (0-0, 4.11) allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings. Chris Taylor hit a two-run home run in the second inning.
Trevor Bauer (2-0, 2.42) gave up one run on three hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings. Jake Cronenworth hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. Manny Machado scored on Eric Hosmer‘s double in the seventh inning. In the eighth inning, Jurickson Profar scored on a single by Hosmer and Fernando Tatis Jr. & Hosmer came around to score on Tommy Pham‘s double.
