The Padres (21-15) scored more runs, 13-2, than the Colorado Rockies (17-17) in the third game of their four-game series at Coors Field. Chris Paddack (3-3, 4.43) allowed two unearned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out eight in six innings. Raimel Tapia scored on a Charlie Blackmon fielder’s choice & Eric Hosmer throwing error and Nolan Arenado scored on a single by Ryan McMahon in the sixth inning.

Ryan Castellani (1-2, 5.24) gave up five runs on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts in two innings. Hosmer hit a three-run home run with Trent Grisham & Fernando Tatís Jr. on base in the first inning. Grisham tripled to drive in Austin Hedges and a Tatís Jr. single drove in Grisham in the second inning. Ty France scored on Hedges’ sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. Jake Cronenworth hit a two-run home run with Tatís Jr. on base in the seventh inning. Jurickson Profar & Grisham each hit solo home runs and Tatís Jr. scored on a Manny Machado single in the eighth inning. Josh Naylor hit a two-run home run with Cronenworth on base in the ninth inning.
