The Hangover 2020 – Games 31-33

Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of trying to login to Zoom meetings with fellow Padres fans. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were stuck in quarantine.

The Padres (18-13) scored fewer runs than the Seattle Mariners (12-19). 8-3, in the first game of three at Petco to kick off the 2020 Vedder Cup. Chris Paddack (2-3, 5.15) gave up six runs on eight hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in five innings. J.P. Crawford scored on Kyle Seager‘s sacrifice fly and Kyle Lewis scored on a single by Evan White in the first inning. Crawford hit a two-run home run in the second inning. In the sixth inning, Austin Nola hit a solo home run and a double by Crawford drove in White. White singled in Seager and a single by Tim Lopes drove in Nola in the seventh inning.

Marco Gonzales (3-2, 3.63) allowed three runs on nine hits and no walks while striking out five in five innings. Eric Hosmer hit a two-run home run with Manny Machado on base and Ty France double to drive in Wil Myers in the third inning.
