The Padres (9-7) scored more runs than the Arizona Diamondbacks (6-10), 9-5, in the finale of their three-game series at Petco Park. Dinelson Lamet (2-0, 1.61) allowed one run on one hit and no walks while striking out eleven in six and two-thirds innings. Kole Calhoun hit a solo home run in the seventh inning. In the ninth inning, Andy Young and Nick Ahmed each hit two-run home runs.

Madison Bumgarner (0-3, 9.35) lasted only two innings, giving up six runs on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Manny Machado hit a solo home run and Wil Myers hit a two-run home run with Ty France on base in the first inning. In the second inning, Fernando Tatís Jr. hit a two-run home run with Jurickson Profar on base and Machado hit a second solo home run. France hit a solo home run and Francisco Mejía hit a two-run home run with Profar on base in the third inning.
