Sometimes things can get a little fuzzy after a couple of days of partying with fellow Padres fans in the Gaslamp. The occasional memory refresher can come in handy. Here’s a friendly reminder of what we may have missed while we were drinking.

The Padres (15-11) scored more runs than the Washington Nationals (11-13), 4-3, in the first of four games at Nationals Park. Matt Strahm (0-2, 3.04) pitched six innings, giving up two runs on four hits and no walks while striking out eight. Yan Gomes hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Carter Kieboom hit his first Major League home run with a solo shot in the eighth inning.
Max Scherzer (1-3, 4.12) gave up two runs on four hit and no walks with ten strikeouts in seven innings. Eric Hosmer hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. Manny Machado drove in Wil Myers with a single in the seventh inning. Austin Hedges scored on a passed ball in the eighth inning. Hunter Renfroe hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning.
